Angami Basket Makers - Nagaland

April 29, 2016 Laura Read

I love photographing people who are making things, and I love how people make things with pieces of plants - such as baskets, nets and hats. In Nagaland, India, the men weave the baskets and other tools, and the women weave the woolen clothing. The Angami tribe, which I visited in Touphema, Nagaland, have a coop in which they create utilitarian baskets for gathering crops, hunting, and doing chores around home.
